Experience: It Can Be Your “Secret Ingredient”

Yesterday you were in the business of widgets, but today your going to be selling something along with widgets. You’re going to be selling something special that everyone wants to be a part of or experience for themselves. What is it?

I spend a lot of time thinking about what that something is for our marketing firm. I help clients figure out what that something is. It’s elusive. How do you move away from just selling widgets. How do you move away from selling “consultative” services? Or “adding value” (my favourite!)

Apple and Disney has figured it out. Vegas delivers it.

If I can answer that question for our clients, then we’ll never need to worry about the pipeline – it’ll always be full. If I can answer that for ourselves, then we might be in a totally different business all together.
